Background. Singapore implemented the Strategic Goods (Control) Act (SGCA) on 1st January 2003. Since then, the authority has amended the control list twice. The latest amendment was the new Strategic Goods (Control) Order 2009 (SGCO 2009) which took effect from 1st April 2009 expanding the list of controlled goods and providing clearer and consistent definitions in order to improve official control and enforcement. As a result some items are now on the list for the first time possibly affecting the pharmaceutical and medical industries.

We are pleased to invite you to a briefing with George Tan, Senior Manager, Export Control Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers who will be explaining the full implications of export controls and the implications of these changes to the pharmaceutical and medical industries.

The agenda for the session will include:
• Export Control in Singapore
• Strategic Goods (Control) Order 2009 (SGCO 2009)
• Controlled Goods which may impact Pharmaceutical & Medical industries
• What should the industries do to comply with the new SGCO 2009

To RSVP for the event, please email Fauzia Sheh at fsheh@usasean.org, with your name, title, and affiliation.
