Manager - Thailand, Laos, ICT
Ella Duangkaew joined the Council in September 2017 and works as a Manager on the Thailand, Laos and ICT portfolios.
Prior to joining the Council, Ella worked both within the Thai government and in the Royal Thai Embassy. In 2015, Ella was part of the inaugural class of the Royal Thai Embassy's Thai-American National Internship Program (TANIP), an ongoing initiative of the Thai Ambassador to the United States to engage Thai-Americans in the Embassy's work to develop a strong U.S.-Thai bilateral relationship, specifically by placing interns both in offices within the Embassy and in external rotations with key partner organizations of the Embassy. During her time in TANIP, Ella interned with the Council for her external rotation, and in the Office of the Air Force Attaché of the Royal Thai Embassy. Prior to TANIP, Ella worked directly in the Thai government as a Department of Mental Health intern in the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.
In addition to her experience with the Thai government and the Royal Thai Embassy, Ella has also worked as a Global Business Applications and Analytics Graduate Intern in the Office of Information Management and Technology at the United Nations Development Programme, as a Global Decisioning Edge IT Graduate Intern in the International Technology office of TransUnion, and as a Social Sciences Graduate Intern in the Division of Social Policy and Development of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
Ella holds an M.S.W. in Policy Practice, with a minor in International Social Welfare, from Columbia University, as well as a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Ella was born in Bangkok, Thailand, is fluent in Thai and English, and has studied Spanish and French
