Sunita Kapoor joined the US-ASEAN Business Council as a Manager in December 2013, and she oversees the Food & Agriculture and Infrastructure portfolios as well as the Singapore committee. She is based in the Council’s regional headquarters in Singapore.
Sunita has a mix of private and public sector experience. Her most recent role was as Communications Specialist in a commercial aircraft MRO facility - Eagle Services Asia (ESA) - a joint venture between American aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney and Singapore Airlines Engineering Company. Sunita developed and executed ESA’s communications and employee engagement program, and organized numerous large-scale corporate events ranging from celebrating the milestone delivery of the 7,000th engine shipment to quarterly townhall sessions with the managing director.
Sunita’s public sector experience comes by way of her role as Senior Corporate Planning Officer in the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore where she handled the International Relations portfolio, researching, organizing and participating in study visits to foreign tax administrations. She also edited the employee newsletter.
She has a Masters of Mass Communication qualification from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University and also a First Class Honors degree in Economics from Australia’s Curtin University. Her honors thesis examined the socioeconomic determinants of government social security expenditure in 44 countries. Sunita was born in Singapore and spent four years in Australia from 1999 to 2002.
