Top Story: Reliance on oil, gas affecting climate change policy
Brunei's economic reliance on the oil and gas industry means that it cannot significantly influence climate change on a national policy level, said the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR), Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar yesterday.

All pharmacists must register with Pharmacy Board | Borneo Post, June 5
The Ministry of Health has announced that with effect from today, June 5, 2013, it is mandatory for all pharmacists practising in Brunei Darussalam to be registered with the Brunei Darussalam Pharmacy Board. This is in accordance with the provisions in the Pharmacists Registration Order and Pharmacists Registration (Disciplinary) Rules, Borneo Bulletin reported.

"Distance used to be a big obstacle but with the Internet you can have relationships with professors from other universities, conduct joint research and use the laboratories of more advanced universities," said Dr Jamil Salmi, a former tertiary education coordinator for World Bank.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Education (MoE) were joined yesterday by their counterparts from Thailand at the Second Retreat Meeting on Higher Education between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand at the Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong. The meeting was co-chaired by Brunei's Deputy Permanent Secretary of Higher Education, Ak Abdullah Pg Hj Tengah, and Thailand's Deputy Secretary-General, Office of the Higher Education Commission, Associate Professor Kamjorn Tatiyakavee.
