Top Story: ASEAN Economic Ministers Roadshow underway in the U.S.
This week, officials from the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) will join a visiting delegation of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) economic ministers for ASEAN Road Show events in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, California, as well as in Washington, D.C. U.S. government officials from USTR, the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State, and trade ministers from ASEAN member states will meet with Members of Congress, local government officials and business leaders to discuss various trade issues.
Brunei bans shark trade | Eco-business, June 12
With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the government, through the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR), will enforce the ban on the catch and landings of all shark species from Brunei’s waters and thus cease the sale of any related products in the domestic market, Borneo Bulletin reported.

The Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre (BNSRC) has partnered with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) to conduct the first national study on stroke and multiple sclerosis (MS) in the country. There is currently no available data of stroke and MS in Brunei and "the study will set a milestone in stroke and MS research in Southeast Asia," said Datin Seri Laila Jasa Dr Uta Meyding-Lamade, Executive Director of BNSRC.
CAE to build training center in Brunei by next year | Defense World, June 11
The Government of Brunei Darussalam, the Brunei Economic Development Board ('BEDB') and CAE today held a ceremony to officially celebrate the construction of the new CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC) in Rimba. The CAE Brunei MPTC is a joint venture between CAE and the Ministry of Finance of Brunei Darussalam.
