
Her Excellency Apiradi Tantraporn was named Minister of Commerce of Thailand on August 19, 2015. She previously held the positions of Deputy Minister of Commerce and Director-General of the Department of Foreign Trade. Her Excellency was posted to Geneva first as a Counselor (1985-1989), Minister (1995-1997), and Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (1999-2002), where she was Thailand’s chief negotiator in various bilateral and multilateral negotiations. She has also held the position of Senior Economic Officer in ASEAN SEOM and APEC. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Bachelor’s Degree from Thammasat University, and a Master’s Degree in International Trade from Syracuse University in the U.S.
