2017 Myanmar Business Mission, December 6-8

The US-ASEAN Business Council met with State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during its annual Myanmar Business Mission to Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw. The delegation of 14 companies also met with key economic Ministers and the Myanmar private sector.

2017 Health & Life Sciences Industry Mission to Myanmar, August 16-17

On August 16, the Council met with Myanmar Union Minister for Health and Sports H.E. Dr. Myint Htwe during its inaugural Health & Life Sciences Industry Mission to Myanmar.

2016 Myanmar Business Mission, November 15-17

The US-ASEAN Business Council met with Myanmar State Counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during its annual business mission to Myanmar from November 15-17. The mission was led by Alexander Feldman, President & CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council.

Dinner in Honor of H.E. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar

On September 15 the US-ASEAN Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted H.E. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during her historic visit to Washington, D.C. One day after President Obama announced he would lift remaining sanctions on Myanmar, the State Counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs made her strongest case yet for the economic benefits of high-quality American investment.

Farewell Luncheon in honor of H.E. U Kyaw Myo Htut, Myanmar Ambassador to the U.S., August 17, 2016

The Council and its members said farewell to Ambassador Kyaw Myo Htut as he ended his tour as Myanmar’s Ambassador to the United States. Well-wishers included the Ambassadors of Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand; representatives from the Embassies of Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Southeast Asia Patrick Murphy; and sponsors Chevron, Baker and McKenzie, and Coca-Cola.

American Innovation Roadshow to Myanmar, August 8-9

The U.S. Department of State and the US-ASEAN Business Council co-organized the American Innovation Roadshow to Myanmar. Here, Council President and CEO Alexander Feldman offers remarks during a reception hosted by the Honorable Scot Marciel, U.S. Ambassador to Myanmar, as Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs Charles Rivkin, Foreign Agriculture Service Administrator Phil Karsting, Ambassador Marciel, and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein listen on.

“Quick Wins for Myanmar’s Economy”: Yangon, May 17

The US-ASEAN Business Council’s Myanmar Committee launched its paper entitled “Quick Wins for Myanmar’s Economy” on May 17 at the Union of Myanmar Federated Chambers of Commerce International (UMFCCI) offices in Yangon. Present were members of the Council, UMFCCI executives, and officials of the Myanmar Government.
