The Obama administration extended sanctions authority for one year, but also terminated Presidential Proclamation 6925, effectively lifting a visa ban for many Myanmar officials. This is a key easing of sanctions that will allow much greater engagement between the U.S. and Myanmar. Potentially on the agenda will be a U.S.-Myanmar TIFA and discussions on GSP for Myanmar.
