Top Story: Decree Details Implementation of New Law on Advertising

· On November 14th the Vietnamese government issued Decree No 181/2013/ND-CP, which places stringent requirements on the reporting of the nature and type of advertising done in the country. When the law takes effect on January 1st, 2014, all advertising in Vietnam must effectively be licensed by the government. Potentially sensitive products in markets such as medicine and foods must receive permission from the Ministries of Health and Agriculture, respectively, before ads can be posted.
