Ma. Margarita “Margie” S. Lim joined the Council as the Philippine Country Representative in June 2021.  Prior to joining the Council, she worked as a commercial litigation, arbitration and regulatory lawyer both in the Philippines and the United States.

Margie received her Masters of Law in International Business Regulation, Litigation, and Arbitration from New York University School of Law in 2020.  Before returning to the Philippines, she worked as a law clerk at a civil litigation and immigration firm in Austin, Texas.

Prior to taking her Masters of Law in the United States, Margie was an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of one of the Philippines’ top law firms, Angara, Abello, Concepcion, Regala, and Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW).  She represented several multinational corporations, including some of the Council’s own member companies.  She then accepted a position as a legal and regulatory affairs counsel for Aboitiz Power Corporation, one of the largest power generation and distribution companies in the country.  As legal counsel, she advised the company on legal, compliance, and regulatory matters, and represented the company before the energy regulators and other industry stakeholders.

Margie is a licensed attorney in the State of New York and in the Philippines.  She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Ateneo de Manila University.  She is an active member of the Philippine Women Lawyers Circle.
