From January 31 to February 2, the Council organized its flagship ICT industry mission for the 4th ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (ADGMIN) in Singapore. With senior executives from 21 U.S. companies participating, this mission marked the Council’s largest engagement with ADGMIN since our inaugural mission in 2017.

During the mission, discussions centered on supporting ASEAN Governments in “Building inclusive and trusted digital ecosystems”, the main theme of ADGMIN this year, particularly in key areas such as cybersecurity, AI, digital infrastructure, as well as ongoing support for ASEAN initiatives such as DEFA and the ASEAN Guide on AI Governance and Ethics. The delegation also addressed policymaking considerations on a range of digital issues, including privacy, online scams, secure digital infrastructure, cloud computing, data governance, e-commerce, digital payments, data localization, local content requirements, digital platform regulations, sustainability, and capacity-building activities.
