Julius Gallar Asilum
Associate
Julius Asilum serves as an Associate at the Council’s Manila office, where he contributes to advancing the country portfolio. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Development and the Law from Ateneo de Manila University. Julius first became involved with the Council as an Intern from January to July 2025, later continuing as a Fellow until August 2025 before stepping into his current role.

Julius Asilum is an Associate at the Council’s Manila Office. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Development and the Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Ateneo de Manila University. Beyond academics, he has taken on leadership roles in student and community organizations, reflecting his long-standing commitment to public service and advocacy.

Julius began his journey at the Council as an Intern from January to July 2025, later continuing as a Fellow until August 2025 to support the Aerospace, Defense, and Security Mission to the Philippines.

Prior to this, he worked with Arangkada Philippines as a Research Assistant for Legislation and Advocacy. In this role, he helped publish a policy brief on Philippine Air Transportation, a key contribution to the organization’s 2024 advocacy agenda, while also supporting government reform initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s economic and labor landscape. He is particularly interested in research on governance, political economy, labor, gender, security, and energy.

A proud Mindanaoan, Julius advocates for inclusive economic growth and good governance in the region. He represented Mindanao in the Philippine Youth Leadership Program and completed a community leadership training at Northern Illinois University in the United States.
