Chief Country Representative of Indonesia

Utami serves as the Council’s Chief Country Representative in Indonesia, where she leads engagement with government and industry of regulatory and policy development affecting the U.S. business community. She joined the Council in February 2019, leading the Council’s SME Program across ASEAN as a Senior Manager before she expanded her focus in Indonesia policy and political affairs. With over ten years of experience in public policy and government relations, she advices member companies on navigating Indonesia’s businesses environment and fostering strategic partnerships at both the national and regional levels.

She is committed to advancing fair, transparent, and predictable policies that strengthen the investment climate and support sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.

Prior to joining the Council, Utami gained valuable experience working for the Government of Indonesia in two key ministries. At the Ministry of Trade, she was part of the Indonesia Task Force for the Ninth Ministerial Conference World Trade Organization, contributing to the coordination efforts for the conference held in Bali in 2013. The next year, Utami served as a program officer, assisting in the development of the Strategic Planning Document for Indonesia’s International Trade Cooperation for the period of 2015 to 2019. Additionally, in the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Utami worked closely with multilateral development organizations to prepare the New National Development Projects document spanning the same period.

Utami received an Australia Awards scholarship to pursue her Master of Public Policy at the Australian National University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Universitas Indonesia. In 2026, Utami selected as a member of the second annual cohort of the Women Changemakers Initiatives at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security (GIWPS) and participated in the 2026 Global Women Leaders Summit hosted by the Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
