Special Advisor
Chuck Casey is the Special Advisor of Aerospace, Defense & Security at the US ASEAN Business Council (USABC). With 24 years of military service in aviation and international affairs, his experience ranges from fighter aircraft squadrons to Embassy and Headquarters assignments. Having lived in Vietnam from 2017 to 2022, Chuck brings a unique understanding to the Council as the ASEAN region balances growth and prosperity with regional security dynamics.

Chuck Casey serves as the Special Advisor of Aerospace, Defense & Security at the US ASEAN Business Council (USABC), bringing with him 24 years of military service in aviation and international affairs. His diverse experience spans from fighter aircraft squadrons to embassy and headquarters assignments across the United States and East/Southeast Asia. 

As a Military Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi from 2016 to 2020, Chuck represented national security interests, advising top officials on political-military affairs, war legacy challenges, and defense sales. As the Deputy Director at the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) Hanoi Office, he represented U.S. interests ito locate the remains of U.S. personnel still missing from the Vietnam War. As the Indo-Pacific Coordinator at Headquarters Marine Corps, he managed key relationships, focusing on Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. 

Before his international affairs work, Chuck served in various aviation units across the Air Force and Marine Corps, with experience in flight line operations, logistics, quality assurance, and process improvement. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Management from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Master of Arts in Southeast Asia Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School. Chuck is proficient in Vietnamese and has studied Spanish, French, German, and Russian.
