Han Thu Ya

Han Thu Ya serves as the Associate Research Analyst at the US-ASEAN Business Council Institute, focusing on the Vietnam Wartime Accounting Initiative (VWAI), Food & Agriculture, and Myanmar. In his role, Han assists with partner coordination, fundraising outreach, and research. He holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Central European University and Bard College.
Han's experience centers on political risk and trade policy in Southeast Asia. At the US-ASEAN Business Council, he has provided support for high-level engagements, including business missions to Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia. Before joining the Council and Institute, Han Thu Ya spent two years as an analyst with a political risk consultancy in Yangon and supported USAID's Agriculture and Food Systems Development Activity. Han Thu Ya's writing has appeared in The Diplomat and the peer-reviewed journal Asian Politics & Policy.
