Before joining the Council, Jileen worked on digital economy collaborations at the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (2019-2022). She was a member of the inaugural core team in charge of Singapore’s digital economy agreement (DEA) initiative and supported the implementation of international treaties on digital economy issues, such as the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA) with New Zealand and Chile and the Korea-Singapore Digital Partnership Agreement (KSDPA). At IMDA, she gained experience in ICT policy and project management – through managing bilateral and multi-lateral engagements end-to-end. Some ICT policy areas include cross-border data flows, AI governance and digital trade. In 2021, she was selected to receive the IMDA Individual Award for her contributions to Singapore’s (and world’s) first DEA: the pluri-lateral Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA) with Chile and New Zealand.
Jileen graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in June 2019, with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. It was there she developed an appreciation for e-government and emerging tech policies, and has since pursued opportunities to further these interests professionally.
