Nugraheni Utami

Utami is the Council’s Country Representative in Indonesia since August 2023. She joined in February 2019, leading the Council’s SME Program across ASEAN as a Senior Manager. Formerly in the Indonesian Government (Ministry of Trade and Ministry of National Development Planning/BAPPENAS), she gained valuable experience collaborating with Senior Officials and understand the policy-making processes and implementation at the national and local levels. Especially in the areas of international trade cooperation and multilateral foreign funding.

Thanh Vu

Thanh has been running the Council’s Vietnam office since its inception in 2007. In this capacity, he has been advising the world’s leading multinational companies on business strategies and government policies in Vietnam and helping them engage directly with key decision makers in both the government and private sectors here. He used to work at Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry.

Shari Khalid joined the Council’s Singapore office in May 2023 as a Coordinator, Finance and Administration.

Third Bargo
Herminio Bagro III

Third Bagro, with fifteen years of public sector experience, now represents the US-ABC as its Philippines Country Representative. From his beginnings as scholar, student leader, and legal assistant, he rose to serve in various capacities, including Undersecretary at the Presidential Management Staff, chief-of-staff to a Philippine Senator, and Trade Undersecretary. He co-founded Twala and FLO Attorneys-at-Law to enhance legal access through technology. A University of the Philippines graduate in philosophy and law, he earned an MPA from Maxwell School, Syracuse University, as a Fulbright scholar.

Marcella Suwandhi
Marcella Suwandhi

As a Senior Manager, Marcella spearheads engagements between U.S. businesses and ASEAN Sectoral Bodies to promote a transformative trade agenda. Based in Jakarta, she serves as the regional focal point to the ASEAN Secretariat and drives the Council’s advocacy efforts on digital trade, modernization of customs and trade facilitation and harmonization of rules and standards to minimize technical barriers to trade in ASEAN. Previously, Marcella worked at the ASEAN Secretariat as a Political Cooperation Officer.

Chi Nguyen
Chi Nguyen

Chi joined the US-ASEAN Business Council in April 2018 as Executive Assistant. She supports the Deputy Regional Managing Director & Chief Representative for Vietnam, coordinates the Council’s business missions and events in Vietnam and facilitating Council members’ interests and activities. Before joining the Council, Chi worked as a Business Development Analyst at GE. Chi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies & a Master’s degree in Risk Management from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

Jileen Yong
Jileen Yong

Jileen Yong joined the Council as a Manager in September 2022.  Based in Singapore, she supports the Council’s ICT and Singapore portfolios. Before joining US-ABC, Jileen worked on digital economy collaborations at the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (2019-2022).  She was a member of the inaugural core team in charge of Singapore’s digital economy agreement (DEA) initiative, and facilitated digital partnerships negotiations with countries such as: Chile, China, Indonesia, New Zealand, South Korea.

Christine Wan
Christine Wan

Christine Wan manages the Financial Services, Sustainability, and Energy portfolios at the US-ASEAN Business Council. She has prior experience in the public sector and also private sector experience in research and government affairs in Southeast Asia. Christine has a degree in Political Science from the National University of Singapore, and was an alumnus of the Yale-Visiting International Student Program with Yale University. She is currently pursuing an online professional certificate with MIT in Sustainability.

Phuong Nguyen
Phuong Nguyen

Phuong Nguyen joined the Council since January 2020 as a Manager, based in Hanoi. With experience in project management and government relations, she supports the Council's activities, trade missions, and advocacy in Vietnam. Prior to joining the Council, Phuong gained valuable experience at renowned organizations such as KPMG, Vietnam Business Forum, and the Asian Development Bank. She holds degrees in Banking & Finance from National Economic University and Language & International Studies from Hanoi University.
