Gretchen Kunze

Gretchen Kunze joined the Council in February 2023 as Director for the Health and Life Sciences portfolio. She also serves as Executive Director of the US ICT Council for Myanmar, an affiliate of the US-ABC. Gretchen has spent over 20 years living and working in Asia in international development, designing and leading programs focused on governance and democracy building, economic growth, digital development, policy reform, and civic engagement.

Margaret Hanson-Muse is the Chief Operating Officer of US-ABC. She oversees the Council’s strategic planning, IT, human resources, budgeting, membership, and communications functions.  She is President of the USABCI, a 501(c)3 organization. Fluent in Spanish and French, Ms. Hanson-Muse was a senior diplomat with the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her international assignments included Singapore/ASEAN, India, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, and Costa Rica. Ms. Hanson-Muse was a management professional at Allstate Insurance, General Electric, and Sprint/Telenet.

Former ambassador Ted Osius is President & CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council.  Founded in 1984, the Council represents 180 of the largest American businesses in Southeast Asia through its headquarters in Washington, DC, and its seven regional offices. A diplomat for thirty years, Ambassador Osius served from 2014 to 2017 as U.S. ambassador to Vietnam.
