(Washington, DC) US-ASEAN Business Council members met yesterday with Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, continuing a dialogue with Malaysia's leaders on expanding bilateral economic relations. Led by US-ASEAN Business Council President Alexander Feldman and Council Malaysia Committee Chair Joseph Alhadeff of Oracle, members discussed their eagerness to work with Malaysia to support the full implementation of Prime Minister Najib's economic reform agenda and to support the successful conclusion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade negotiations.
Council members enthusiastically conveyed their support for the vision outlined by Prime Minister Najib in the New Economic Model and the 10th Malaysia Plan, and urged that the open and transparent process used to gather input from stakeholders in their creation would itself become a pillar of Malaysia's economic policy reform agenda.
