(Washington, DC) US-ASEAN Business Council members met yesterday with Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, continuing a dialogue with Malaysia's leaders on expanding bilateral economic relations. Led by US-ASEAN Business Council President Alexander Feldman and Council Malaysia Committee Chair Joseph Alhadeff of Oracle, members discussed their eagerness to work with Malaysia to support the full implementation of Prime Minister Najib's economic reform agenda and to support the successful conclusion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade negotiations.
Council members enthusiastically conveyed their support for the vision outlined by Prime Minister Najib in the New Economic Model and the 10th Malaysia Plan, and urged that the open and transparent process used to gather input from stakeholders in their creation would itself become a pillar of Malaysia's economic policy reform agenda.

(Kuala Lumpur)The US-ASEAN Business Council held a gala dinner celebrating the culmination of its 25 th anniversary year of advancing the business relationship between the United States and ASEAN. The Council presented an award honoring Malaysia for its leadership and vision in transforming its economy and creating and strengthening ties between the US and Malaysia, creating innovative programs such as the New Economic Model, and creating a robust environment for economic growth. The event also honored ASEAN “Rising Stars”, outstanding young individuals chosen by Council member companies as representative of those most likely to be vital figures in the future of the U.S.-ASEAN business relationship.

(Jakarta) In an effort to promote infrastructure development in Indonesia, the Investment Coordinating Board of the Republic of Indonesia ( BKP M) and the US-ASEAN Business Council yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining their plans to work together to expand investment through Public-Private Partnerships, as well as explore ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure dev e lopment in Indonesia. BKPM was represented by its Chairman, Gita Wirjawan, while US-ASEAN Business Council President Alexander Feldman and President of Caterpillar Asia and Chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council Infratructure W orking G roup Kevin R.
