(Singapore) The US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) concluded a senior executives’ mission to Singapore comprised of representatives of 16 major American companies. The group voiced its continued commitment to Singapore, its appreciation for Singapore's friendship and business friendly environment, and discussed areas of additional trade and investment. The Chairman of USABC bilateral US-Singapore Business Council, Bob Bauerlein of The Boeing Company, and USABC President Matthew Daley led the delegation of 25 executives.
(Washington, DC) The US-ASEAN Business Council today announced that Martin J. Sullivan, President and CEO of American International Group, Inc. has been elected the Council's new Chairman. Sullivan succeeds Charles Williamson, Chairman and CEO of Unocal Corporation, who has served as Chairman of the Council since 2002.
"The ASEAN region is important to the United States, to American business and to AIG. It's an honor to be elected chairman of this organization, which has a long record of facilitating productive dialogue between U.S. companies and the dynamic ASEAN economies," said Mr. Sullivan.
(Vientiane, Lao PDR) The US-ASEAN Business Council met with the ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) today to discuss trade and investment issues impacting US companies in the region. The Council’s delegation consists of senior representatives from APL Co., DaimlerChrysler, FedEx Express, Ford Motor Company, IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Time Warner and UPS. US-ASEAN Business Council President Matthew Daley led the delegation. This is the sixth year that the Council has had the honor of engaging the ASEAN Economic Ministers and offering vision and support for development of the ASEAN market.

(Washington, DC) The US-ASEAN Business Council wrapped up its annual US Ambassadors Tour tonight with a gala dinner for more than 300 Washington government officials, current diplomatic community, business leaders, scholars and former diplomats. The dinner featured a keynote speech by United States Senator Christopher S “Kit” Bond (R-MO), and remarks by US Ambassador to Singapore Frank Lavin. (“ASEAN” stands for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations).
