The Philippines Committee will be holding its 2023 Q2 Committee Call this May. The Council has invited Atty. Ernesto Perez, Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), to discuss the agency's new initiatives in line with its mandate to promote and ensure the ease of doing business in the Philippines.

The 2023 Philippines Business Mission Planning Call # 1 will discuss details relevant to the upcoming 2023 Philippines Business Mission. Topics include mission themes, proposed mission meetings, mission fees, mission materials, and other important information such as logistics and hotel bookings. Philippine Amb. Jose Manuel Romualdez will be joining the first half of the call to speak on the Philippines’ political and macroeconomic outlook.

The US-ASEAN Business Council (“US-ABC”) is pleased to continue our ongoing initiatives for the SME Workshop Series: Rebuilding the ASEAN Economy – as a part of the ASEAN SME Academy (“the Academy”) – which aims to help ASEAN small and medium enterprises (SMEs) recover stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic and better adapt to the digital economy. The upcoming workshop will be focusing on “Addressing Digital Skill Gaps for Philippines SMEs” – which will be conducted on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 09.00 AM – 04.00 PM in Manila, the Philippines.

From August 9-11, the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) held its 2023 Philippines Business Mission in Metro Manila, where a total of 30 companies participated in a series of in-person dialogues with top officials from the Government of the Philippines. This was the largest delegation to visit the Philippines in US-ABC history. The mission was co-led by Ambassador Ted Osius (ret.), President and CEO of US-ABC and Mr. Stephen Braim, Vice President for Government & Regulatory Affairs, Asia Pacific at IBM and Co-Chair of US-ABC's Philippines Committee.

The US-ASEAN Business Council is registering senior-level executives for its annual Business Mission to the Philippines on October 25-28, 2022. The mission will consist of bilateral meetings with senior government officials and other priority stakeholders and will be the best opportunity to meet the newly appointed leaders of the Marcos administration. This will be an in-person mission as may be allowed by relevant guidelines and restrictions. Participants should plan to arrive in Manila by Monday, October 24. The mission starts on Tuesday October 25, morning and ends on Friday 28, afternoon. There will be a pre-mission meeting and briefing on the morning of October 25.
