On October 5, 2025, Indonesia marked the 80th anniversary of its National Armed Forces (TNI) with a military parade showcasing advancements in defense technology, including PTDI-produced aircraft and PT PAL’s debut of an autonomous unmanned submarine equipped with advanced weaponry. These developments reflect Indonesia’s strategic push to strengthen its domestic defense industry and embrace AI-driven, unmanned systems. The event underscores the country’s broader ambition to enhance national security capabilities while positioning itself as a regional leader in defense innovation. Indonesia’s increased defense spending and a shift toward diversifying suppliers also open doors for American firms, especially in advanced technology sectors like drones and intelligence systems.
