Vietnam Expands Green Logistics Initiatives to Strengthen Sustainable Supply Chains
Vietnam is accelerating its transition toward green logistics through new policy incentives that push for low-emission logistics systems, wider use of renewable energy, and the deployment of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and blockchain in supply chain operations. The new strategy aims to reduce logistics costs, build world-class logistics hubs, and support cross-border e-commerce by improving customs efficiency and integrating digital trade platforms.
Key challenges remain, such as financing green assets and ensuring smaller firms can adopt new technologies, but the direction of policy suggests strong momentum toward transforming the country into a competitive, environmentally responsible logistics hub. Vietnam’s approach positions logistics not just as a facilitator of trade but as a strategic industry with potential regional leadership. The emphasis on decarbonization, digitalization, and workforce development aligns with shifts toward smarter and more sustainable supply chains.
