Macel Jimenez-Rada serves as the Country Representative for the Philippines of the US-ASEAN Business Council, joining in December 2025. She is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Philippines College of Law, teaching commercial and civil law subjects.
Macel most recently served as Vice President for Transaction Management – Legal Services at the Maharlika Investment Corporation, the Philippines’ sovereign wealth fund. In this capacity, she oversaw the full spectrum of legal and transactional work for strategic investments, from origination to closing.
Previously, Macel was the Head of Legal and Corporate Secretary of Metro Pacific Water, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, where she provided legal guidance on public-private partnerships, negotiated acquisitions, ensured regulatory compliance, and developed internal governance policies. Before this, she held key legal roles at Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions and dispensed strategic legal advice on a range of transactions. Macel also served as Director for Legislation in the Office of the Senate President, where she helped craft significant legislative measures during the 16th Congress. She began her legal career as an Associate at Esguerra & Blanco Law Offices, gaining experience in corporate, litigation, and labor law.
She holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines. She is an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Institute of Corporate Directors.
