On July 18, the headquarters of the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) Cybersecurity and Information Center of Excellence (ACICE) opened at the Changi Naval Base in Singapore. The opening ceremony was officiated by Singapore Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen. Operational since June 2021, the hub seeks to complement existing regional cybersecurity programs such as the ASEAN Cyber Defense Network (ACDN) and ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group (EWG) on cybersecurity. ACICE’s main goals include sharing information, research, and analysis on cyber threats relevant to the defense sector and serving as a regional capacity-building hub. To support these goals, ACICE launched the Malware Information Sharing Platform (MISP) in February to facilitate timely sharing of cybersecurity threat information among ASEAN member states. The hub has produced more than 60 monthly digests on trends and developments in the information and cyber domains. These reports have been distributed to 23 countries, including ADMM-Plus members and other external partners.
