Myanmar junta deprives State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi of Medical Care

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been denied access to her domestic staff and has been assigned military-chosen helpers exclusively, according to local media reports. Further, the reports suggest that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is suffering from a severe tooth infection, and the military is depriving her of proper medical care and food. However, a junta spokesman said reports of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s ill health were just rumors. The National League of Democracy (NLD) has stated, “If the health of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is impaired and her life endangered, the junta is solely responsible.
