Singapore Expands Support for Manufacturers Adopting Advanced Technologies
On October 21, Minister of State for Energy, Trade and Industry (METI) Gan Siow Huang announced that Singapore will allocate more than SGD 45 million over three years to help manufacturers adopt AI through Enterprise Singapore’s Catalytic AI Solutions initiative. The program will provide small and medium-sized enterprises with ready-to-deploy tools for product design, quotation processing, production scheduling, and predictive maintenance. Enterprise Singapore will co-fund adoption by eligible companies and bring together technology providers, system integrators, and industry associations to support implementation. The initiative aims to address key barriers to AI adoption, including implementation costs, limited access to industry-specific solutions, and uncertainty over returns on investment. The announcement forms part of Singapore's broader AI Mission in Advanced Manufacturing, which seeks to increase manufacturing productivity and output through greater AI deployment. In parallel, Singapore will expand support for industrial AI research and commercialization through the next phase of the AI Centre of Excellence for Manufacturing (AIMfg), which has partnered with 30 manufacturers and completed 23 AI deployment projects across sectors including aerospace, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and energy.
